Google’s Morale Crisis is About to Get Worse

Google has clearly not been doing well over the past few weeks. It’s now the worst time of Sunder Pichai’s tenure following the controversy over Gemini. The latest AI crisis at Google started from the fact that Gemini was showing results related to historical data.

With the release of the new feature of Gemini- text-to-image conversation, it has started facing controversies. Users were continuously reporting the wrong data generated by Gemini. Later on, Google accepted the flaws and decided to pause the text-to-image feature of Gemini.

Google said-” We’re already working to address recent issues with Gemini’s image generation feature. While we do this, we’re going to pause the image generation of people and will re-release an improved version soon.”

Google’s Morale Crisis is leading to the removal of Suner Pichai, as the post of Samir Arora of Gemini has really gone viral. After all these controversies at Google, many people are asking for the removal of Sunder Pichai. Samir Arora has also replied to one of the user posts saying-” My guess is he will be fired or resign – as he should. After being in the lead on AI he has completely failed on this and let others take over.”Even Elon Musk has targeted Google calling it ‘insane’ and ‘anti-civilized’.

Gemini provided some biased answers about Indian PM Mr. Narendra Modi. However many people still believe that Goggle has given a wakening to people who would rather ignore AI bias. In addition, the scope of the problem extends beyond Gemini’s biased answers.

Trusting the sources Google employees say ‘it is the worst they have ever seen.’ People’s demands that Sunder Pichai be taken down truly highlight how serious the current controversy is for Google.

“Organizationally at this place, it’s impossible to navigate and understand who’s in rooms and who owns things,” one member of Google’s Trust and Safety team. “Maybe that’s by design so that nobody can ever get in trouble for failure.”
