Vision of Apples Research Team:
Apple’s research team is continuously working to come up with some exciting AI projects. At the developer conference, Apple CEO Tim Cook promised that something exciting is on its way. In their research paper called “LLM in a Flash: Efficient Large Language Model Inference with Limited Memory, the researchers wrote “We have demonstrated the ability to run LLMs up to twice the size of available DRAM [on the SSD],”. “Achieving an acceleration in inference speed by 4-5x compared to traditional loading methods in CPU, and 20-25x in GPU.”
Apple has also published another research paper describing the way of the use of SIRI. Instead of saying “Hey Siri” or “Siri,” the device might be able to simply intuit whether you’re talking to it. “This can be a challenging task for the team but they are working to make it possible. Along with that, they are also working to improve the images with a new tool called MGIE. The users can ask the tool to make any desired changes in the image. The researchers describe that users can ask to “Make the sky bluer,” “make my face less weird,” “add some rocks,” and other things.
However, for now, these all are research and are still in the lab. But these have given us the insights that Apple’s vision is clear in the AI race. The company is continuously working to come up with some exciting features in various fields. Especially for iPhone users, a better version of SIRI will be fun to use.
