ChatGPT Advanced Voice Mode rolling out: this humanlike AI is far better than you think
Finally, the wait is over. The ChatGPT advanced voice mode has started rolling out and users are sharing their views on it. On Tuesday, 24 September, OpenAI announced that they are rolling out advanced voice mode to plus users and team members, and it has done what it promised. This amazing humanlike advanced AI will be available in 50 languages.
The responses from ChatGPT plus users around the globe are really overwhelming. With this new advanced feature, you cannot recognize whether you have a conversation with AI or a real human. As for now, the advanced AI is only accessible to Plus users of ChatGPT (who have joined the waitlist) and team members.
Remember J.A.R.V.I.S. from Iron Man of Marvel Cinematic? While using this advanced model, it feels like I am talking to the J.A.R.V.I.S. that answers all intricate questions. Indeed artificial intelligence is the future.
In the next week, it will rolled out to more users including enterprises and edu sectors. In the upcoming weeks, we can also expect ChatGPT advanced voice mode will be available to the general public, though with limited access.
The new voice mode has completely revamped its design other than what we have seen earlier. It is now a blue animated and magical orb that speaks! If you already have a ChatGPT Plus account, you will get a pop-up when you log in, however, instead of that, you will get an email on the registered email ID
As for now, it is available in 9 most popular voices as listed below and each has a distinct character. When you use it for the first time, it asks you to select any voice from the available –

The Humanlike Conversation is the Big Key
Though there are already tons of AI models based on large language models including humanlike voices, OpenAI’s advanced voice mode is far better than theirs. The big plus of ChataGPT is a conversation like a human when you can discuss any topic in 55 different languages with different accents.
You can ask it to change a language or accent in between the conversation. Suppose, you asked this advanced voice mode to “5 different locations to travel in this week”. It is supposed to be answered on default accent and language but if you find it hard to understand the accent, you can interrupt it mid and ask to change the accent.

This is just an example, you can even ask complex questions and instruct her (yes it has a female voice) how to respond. Even if you ask her to create a story scene with specific background and voice, she is perfectly capable of doing so. What are the Top Features of ChatGPT Advanced Voice Mode?
Apart from humanlike conversations and regular interruptions, it comes in two versions – standard (black sphere) and advanced (blue orb). You can shift them anytime. It should be noted that the advanced voice mode comes with a limited duration though it is not fixed. According to Open AI, “We provide a notice as you are approaching the daily limit. Plus and Team users will be notified when they have 15 minutes left of advanced voice for the day.”
Once you exhaust your daily limit, the conversation will automatically end and you will be shifted to standard voice mode.
Background conversation – Users can keep their conversation going in the background while using other applications. It avoids interruption due to important text, messages, and notifications. Also, you can resume your previous conversation, provided that you cannot switch between standard and advanced voice modes.
Conversation transcription – While advanced voice mode doesn’t provide you subtitles for conversation, you can get the transcription of your conversation once it ends. It can be accessed from the web version and the application.
Interruption while conversation – It is the big plus feature of this advanced voice mode. As for now, no other AI voice model allows such a level of humanlike conversation that can be interrupted regularly by the users. No matter what topic you are discussing, you can interrupt any time when you find the conversation is not going right or you are not satisfied with the answer of ChatGPT.
