In 2024, Meta has powered its ecosystem; Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram, with commanding features. Meta has made hefty investments to be a leading AI social media platform and to achieve this, yesterday it announced that Meta started AI chatbot trials for WhatsApp, Instagram, and Messenger in India.
An AI chatbot can now help you respond to chat requests swiftly as we get closer to an increasingly AI-driven world. Once it’s fully operational, you won’t have to worry about how to respond whether you’re a business or an individual. Even if you love to have poems or stories, this sophisticated chatbot also does it easily.
The move to launch the Meta AI chatbot in India is easily understandable as India has the largest user base on Facebook and Instagram.
Meta is a parent company of WhatsApp and Instagram, it started AI chatbot trials in the last quarter of 2023, however, it was restricted to the United States only. After getting an overwhelming response from its users, Meta introduced this feature to other countries including India, as promised.
This AI-powered chatbot developed using a custom generative text model of Llama2 and Meta’s Large Language Model (LLM) and combinedly it makes Meta’s AI is highly conversational. Also, the Meta AI chatbot is not only limited to the textual answer but it can also generate photorealistic images from text prompts.

According to Meta, their chatbot is still in the trial phase and will continue to grow and change daily based on feedback from users.
The screenshots shared by a Meta AI tester, Nikhil Kumar, on X, it can clearly be seen that this chatbot has surpassed the expectations of users. As the attached screenshot below, you can see that Meta’s AI chatbot answers the user’s question “Is Bangalore cloudy right now?” It clearly answered in detail about the weather in Bangalore.
Not only this, you can see the pre-defined prompts of Meta AI. You can ask for help in singing, learn cardio exercises, ask any general knowledge questions, ask to play reels, etc. The best part is that it provides you links to a reference, so you can validate its answers.
Overall, the Meta AI chatbot looks very promising and the day is not far when we can access the news and search results directly from Messenger and WhatsApp.
How to use Meta AI Chatbot in India
To use the Meta AI chatbot in WhatsApp, you just have to click on the Meta icon, located at the bottom right corner (above to plus button). You will get a small screen regarding the Meta introduction, then click on the continue button.
Once you tap on continue, your Meta chatbot is activated and you are in the chatting interface. Now ask anything on your mind or any appropriate questions. Since it’s still developing, you might not find the answers to all of your queries. But if you have access to the Meta AI chatbot, I highly recommend giving it a try; I promise you won’t be disappointed.
