French Startup Nijta Hopes To Safeguard Voice Privacy In AI

A France-based B2B company Nijta has come up with a solution for your voice privacy. Nitja is claiming to safeguard your voice in AI applications.
As per the sources “Nijta’s AI-powered voice anonymization technology offers a solution for many enterprises who are increasingly concerned about data privacy and excited about generative AI,”– said Céline Passedouet Elaia investment director.
Nijta was first found at Inria Startup Studio, a program in France for PhD entrepreneurs who are looking to start their businesses. It was founded by Brij Srivastava, an Indian who moved to France for his Ph.D. program. Soon the AI-based B2B Company gained recognition with €2 million funding from various sources.
For Now, the company is dealing in the B2B market but the company is thinking of expanding the business into B2C. “Real-time anonymization for secure communication is also something that we are very actively exploring,” Srivastava said. “But B2C is a few years down the line; Nijta’s small team can’t spread itself too thin.”- He added.

Nijta voice privacy Growing Market:
As per the CEO of Nijta Brij Srivastava, “Europe is our primary market,”- he said in his interviews with different sources. As in Europe the privacy laws are very strictly imposed by the GDPR(General Data Protection Regulation). Companies are now becoming very aware of handling the voice data of their clients, especially in Europe.
As a user, you may not have an idea how important your voice recordings data are for the company. They can use this data for different research work and also get to know more about your personality with your voice. Voice anonymization is becoming very essential for different sectors.
Nijta, a B2B company, is dealing with many different centers. However, call centers are their first clients. Apart from that they are also dealing with health clients to empower their voice data with their AI solution.
As per Nijta-” With the growing demand for better customer experiences, companies are looking for ways to extract valuable insights from voice interactions while being compliant with data protection regulations.”
The company is dealing in different sectors and in one of its collaborations with the Oky Doky, they aim to handle the data of their emergency health calls more efficiently.

Last year in 2023, Nijta was awarded for their AI data anonymization solution the prestigious I-Lab Prize. Additionally, by winning the French Government’s Innovation Competition, Nijta became one of the successful projects to be supported by the French Government.
However, with all these achievements the company is still facing many challenges. The major challenge is the lack of awareness among people related to their voice privacy. This is also one of the major reasons to start a business in Europe. Even if the businesses are not ready to adopt voice privacy, the fine rules of GDAP are pushing them to go for the same.
