Brave’s Leo Ai Assistant Is Now Available To Android Phone Users
Brave has recently launched AI-power assistant Leo for all Android users. Android users, updated to version 1.63 can use Leo on their phones. Brave has also announced that in the coming weeks, they are going to release Leo for iPhone users as well.
Android users can ask different questions like breakfast recipes, summarize pages, create creative content, and a lot more with Leo. Brave says that all your chats are safe with Leo and Brave does not record them or use them for any model training.
Brave launched Leo for desktop users around 3 months back. Now they have released Leo for Android users so that users can seamlessly interact with Leo with their phones without risking their privacy and security. As per Brave it will help the users to maximize their productivity irrespective of the place they are at.

With the release of Leo, Brave is hoping that its users will now use Leo for their queries instead of ChatGPT or other LLM.
What Leo can do for you?
Brave said that Leo is capable of handling a number of tasks given by the users:
- Leo can create real-time summaries of web pages or videos for you that you want to read/watch, in your office but never get the time.
- Leo can generate long-form content for any given topic. The users can also ask questions about the content.
- You can compare the products with the help of Leo before buying them.
- Leo can translate the pages for the users or can also rewrite them for you.
Brave has also stated that-” With Brave Leo, there’s no login or signup required—you just open your browser and chat. Privately.”
Mixtral as the default LLM:
Leo comes with Mixtral 8x7B, Claude Instant, and Llama 2 13B. Mixtral, as its default LLM. but Android users can also choose any other LLM of their choice. The default LLM can interact in multiple languages and also has the ability to generate code for the developers.
With the release of Mixtral 8x7B in December 2023, it has gained much popularity among the developer community. Brave said, “We recently set Mixtral 8x7B as the default LLM for Leo on desktop, and we’ve seen great feedback. And while Mixtral is the default LLM for Android as well”.

Android users can use Brave Leo for free. But its premium version is also available if you want to upgrade it. Leo users can subscribe to its premium version for $14.99/month, and one subscription covers up to 5 different devices across Android, Linux, macOS, and Windows.
Brave also states that the users can log into their Brave account from their other devices with that subscription.
