After so many controversies on Gemini’s response to PM Modi, Google has said ‘Sorry’ to PM Narendra Modi and said Gemini was unreliable.

Gemini has produced some biased results about PM Narendra Modi when he was asked some questions about him. Reacting to that, the government of India has sent a notice to Google seeking an explanation for the ‘unsubstantiated” response of Gemini.

Now Google apologizes to India and has sent a reply to that notice saying ‘Sorry’ for the biased results. Google is also calling its own platform unreliable.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship of India, in his recent interviews, told the newspaper that Google replied and said, “Sorry, the platform is unreliable,”

“These are direct violations of Rule 3(1)(b) of Intermediary Rules (IT rules) of the IT act and violations of several provisions of the Criminal code,” Chandrasekhar said on social media platform X.

After all these controversies the government of India has recently issued an advisory for further AI deployments in the country. The government has stated that from now major tech companies have to take permission from the government before launching any new AI products.

As per the government, the companies are releasing AI products without any testing or any guardrails. When they caught up they simply said sorry without facing any consequences. The minister has also requested the government of India that they should not allow the release of under-deployed AI products in India. As they may create false, misleading information for the users and can mislead them.

Additionally, despite all these controversies on PM Narendra Modi, Gemini has also faced allegations of racial bias and historical inaccuracies. Gemini has refused to produce the images of white people. Reacting to all these controversies, Samir Arora replied to one user that Sunder Pichai should resign or he should be fired.

However, Google later accepted the flaws of Gemini and paused its text-to-image generation feature. Sunder Pichai has condemned the issue saying “completely unacceptable” and we pledge to solve the issue.

Google said that: “We’re already working to address recent issues with Gemini’s image generation feature. While we do this, we’re going to pause the image generation of people and will re-release an improved version soon.”

For now, Google has paused the image generation capabilities of Gemini and working on it to release a better version soon. Recently the tech giant has taken a big step and Google apologizes to India replying to the notice sent by the Indian government.
