Google-backed Glance plans to launch its services in the US

Glance, the Indian startup is now expanding its reach to the US market. As per the sources, the startup has recently partnered with Motorola and Verizon planning to launch it in the US market this year. This startup is backed up by big investors including Google and Jio. it has made a significant impact in India, Southeast Asia, and Japan. Now it is targeting the US market.

Glance is an AI-based company that was founded in 2019 by Naveen Tewari, Abhay Singhal, Mohit Saxena, and Piyush Shah. The Bangalore-based company is a popular lock screen platform, that offers its users a customized feed, sports news, and games without even installing any application on their phones.

In the last few years, Glance has gained popularity among the Android manufacturers. The platform has reached up to 450 million users and is almost active among 300 million users. As per the sources, Glance is changing its way in the US market. It will not display ads on the lock screen but instead, it will serve as a pre-installed app that can easily be removed.

User Privacy and Security

User privacy is one of the key benefits the startup offers to its users. Glance does not read the data of the users and does even not use that for generating revenue. This not only takes care of their privacy but also provides recommended content without compromising the security of the user. It does not collect their personal data but actually relies on the usage patterns to inform its recommendation engine.

To make its presence high in the US market, Glance is also planning to collaborate with known brands. It is planning to cooperate with telecom operators and brands such as CNN and the NBA. So that they can enhance user engagement in the US market.

However, as per the sources, the company has been planning to launch its services in the US for the last two years but remains unsuccessful. There is no official comment on this from the company.
