Chatgpt no longer requires the creation of an Account — But with some limitations
OpenAI has recently announced a new update for ChatGPT users. You will no longer need to create an account while using the basic version of ChatGPT, but there are some limitations that you will face.
As per OpenAI, millions of users are using ChatGPT weekly to learn new things. However, many users often do not like to create an account with ChatGPT. So the company announced yesterday, that users can now access ChatGPT without creating any account but they will not be getting all the features the same as logged users.
OpenAI said in their blog post “It’s core to our mission to make tools like ChatGPT broadly available so that people can experience the benefits of AI. More than 100 million people across 185 countries use ChatGPT weekly to learn something new, find creative inspiration, and get answers to their questions. Starting today, you can use ChatGPT instantly, without needing to sign up”.

What are the restrictions users will face?
OpenAI has allowed its users to chat with the AI model without creating an account, but there are a few restrictions that users have to face.
If you are not logging in with an account you cannot save or share your chats with ChatGPT. Once you will come out of the chatbot, all your chat history will be deleted.
Also, users will not be able to use advanced features like voice conversations and custom instructions without creating an account.
Additionally, users will also have to face “slightly more restrictive content policies”, when they are not using any account. OpenAI has still not highlighted much about these content policies.
Whether you are creating an account or not, the company will still use the data for training the AI model, until you restrict it. In their blog post, OpenAI said “We may use what you provide to ChatGPT to improve our models for everyone. If you’d like, you can turn this off through your Settings – whether you create an account or not,”

However, the company has highlighted the benefits of creating an account with them. They said-“There are many benefits to creating an account including the ability to save and review your chat history, share chats, and unlock additional features like voice conversations and custom instructions.”
OpenAI has started rolling out this new feature. In many regions, it is available now and soon will be available for the rest of the countries.
