Google’s Employees Struggling with Wi-Fi Issues at New “Bay View” Campus
Tech Giant Google is focusing on Generative AI to make the work easy but its own employees are struggling with Spotty Wifi in their new campus. “Bay View” is the first self-designed office building of Google.
The “Bay View” Google campus has confronted bad Wifi connectivity for months, as reported by Six people facing the issues. Employees are either using Ethernet sitting on their desks, working outside where connectivity is good, or using Mobile Hotspot to get the connectivity. The Google leaders are encouraging their team to sit outside in their cafes for their work, where wifi connectivity is strong. Also, they have issued new laptops to their team with powerful wifi chips.
A Google spokesperson has confronted the issue saying“We’ve had Wi-Fi connectivity issues in Bay View.” She said Google “made several improvements to address the issue,” and the company hoped to have a fix in the coming weeks.”

In May 2022, when Google announced its new Bay View campus in California, the company listed a lot of its features and amenities employees will get in this office. Google called this office an “adaptable and healthy workplace”. Google even released a book of 229 pages, highlighting the features of Google’s new Office.

Goggles’ new campus roof is covered with solar panels and looks like cloths held up with rods. Although the roof is made of glass and metal. Each square has four high points at the corners and slays down in the middle. Google called this structure a “Gradient Canopy” but seems it is becoming a barrier to the Wi-Fi connectivity on the campus.
The Google team has yet not disclosed any reasons behind this wifi issue. Their team is continuously working to improve the wifi connectivity on the campus. “You’d think the world’s leading internet company would have worked this out,”- An AI engineer said. However, the workers are saying that the building rooftop swallows broadband like the Bermuda Triangle.
Whatever the reason is the world’s leading internet company should not worked out like this!
