Google is bringing satellite messaging support to Android 15

Google released the second Android Developer Preview, with a new feature of support for satellite connectivity for messaging. With these features, users will be able to send or receive messages through satellite connectivity.

Google says-” The OS now includes some UI elements that are designed to ensure a consistent user experience across the satellite connectivity landscape”.

Last month, Google released the first preview of Android 15 for the developers. However, the model is still not available for beta testing, it can be tested by the developers to provide feedback for further improvement. Later in April, the company will release the first preview for the first beta testing phase.

In their Press Released Google has discussed about the new features and changes in the preview mode. These features include Loudness control, a Smoother NFC experience, screen recording detection, and many more. In their press release, Google confirmed that-” The new preview includes support for “preloaded RCS applications to use satellite connectivity for sending and receiving messages.”

Android 15 preview is available on Google Pixel devices including the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet, and a few more.

With Screen recording detection, users will now be notified, if their activity is being recorded by someone. This will enhance the user’s privacy. Also with support for the CTA-2075, this preview will help to avoid audio loudness inconsistencies, which means now the users don’t have to adjust the volume when they switch to another content. Lastly, Google is also making Pdf improvement features for the users in apps. This will include adding support for password-protected files, annotations, form editing, and many more features.

All these new features of Android are definitely going to increase the users’ privacy and will offer a better user experience. But along with all these features “Satellite support” feature of the Android 15 preview is grabbing the attention of Android users. Users are excited about the beta release.
