Microsoft AI announced a new London hub: fronted by former Inflection and Deepmind scientist “Jordan Hoffmann”

Today Microsoft has announced a new London hub for its recently unveiled consumer AI division. Jordan Hoffmann, an exceptional AI scientist and engineer will lead this all-new AI hub of Microsoft. Jordan was previously part of a startup named Inflection AI and recently moved into Microsoft along with other members of his team.

Three weeks back, we got an announcement from Microsoft about their new consumer AI division. Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft has unveiled this new AI consumer division to the world. Now at the new London hub, Jordan Hoffmann will be reporting to Mustafa Suleyman.

“This is great news for Microsoft AI and for the U.K.  As a British citizen, born and raised in London, I’m proud to have co-founded and built a cutting-edge AI business here. I’m deeply aware of the extraordinary talent pool and AI ecosystem in the U.K., and I’m excited to make this commitment to the U.K. on behalf of Microsoft AI. I know – through my close work with thought leaders in the U.K. government, the business community, and academia – that the country is committed to advancing AI responsibly and with a safety-first commitment to drive investment, innovation, and economic growth. Our decision to open this hub in the U.K. reflects this ambition.” Mustafa Suleyman, EVP and CEO of Microsoft A posted in the blog post today.

In the coming weeks, Sulyeman will launch new job postings to look for AI talent for the new AI hub. They will now hunt for AI talents to join the team of Hoffmann at their new office. Suleyman noted that “they will motorboat caller occupation postings successful the “coming weeks and months” to find caller AI talent to subordinate Hoffmann astatine Microsoft’s Paddington office,”.

Moreover, Microsoft has also invested £2.5 billion to upskill the U.K. workforce in the AI area to continue with their commitment to bring 20,000 of the most advanced GPUs to the country by 2026.
