Microsoft is testing a new feature for the Edge browser, which seems a primary focus for game lovers. Microsoft Edge Testing User-Controlled RAM Limits, under which the users can now control their RAM limit.

Leopeva64 has also posted on their X(Twitter) account about this new feature. They wrote,” A new section on the Settings page could let you control how much RAM Edge can use, you can also choose whether this control is activated only when you are playing a game or always”.

Using this new “User-Controlled RAM Limits”, is going to be quite easy for the users. The users can easily find a slider in their browser. The slider lets you pick between the 1 GB RAM and the maximum RAM you have in your system. Let’s suppose your system has 16 GB RAM, then you pick between 1 GB to 16 GB for the specific tab or can set it to for every time.

With this feature, now it will be more handy for the users while they are going to fire a game. There is no need to shut all your tabs now, while you are streaming or setting for gaming. You can simply manage your RAM slider and you are good to go with your games.

The new Microsoft Edge Testing User-Controlled RAM Limits feature somehow sounds like the feature the Microsoft Edge stable version already has. In that particular case, your browser gives you an alert when any specific tab is consuming high RAM.

However, there is no official news from Microsoft, about when they will ship this feature. Also, the details related to its beta testing or any other things are not released by the company. However, users have noticed a RAM slider in their browser while they are browsing.

Yet, it is not clear when we will use this new exciting User-Controlled RAM Limits feature, but it will definitely change the way of browsing once it is available. To use this feature of course you will need to use Microsoft Edge. Sources are saying that this new feature can shift Chrome and other browsers’ traffic to Microsoft Edge.
